Jeff Ballard

While Jeff Ballard received his education in glass-making, his enigmatic sculptures combine a variety of materials and found objects. Having received his BFA in Glass Art from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 2000, Ballard went on to work in various production studios around the Southwest. During this six-year period, Ballard honed his technical glass-making skills and developed a clean style with great attention to detail. In 2006, Ballard moved to the Northwest when he received a scholarship to study at the renowned Pilchuck Glass School, where he later served as both a teaching assistant and artist in residence. Today, Ballard lives in Eugene, Oregon, where he makes his artwork in addition to teaching glass courses at The University of Oregon Craft Center and Eugene Glass School.
